Contracts power our modern economy, yet they also slow it down. Recent estimates suggest that commercial contract disputes cost U.S. businesses over $300 billion in direct litigation expenses each year, while poor contract management can erode up to 9% of a company's annual revenue. Contracts are a two-sided burden that at best, generates heavy back-office overhead and administrative work. At worst, sparks costly disputes and time-consuming adjudication. Every contract will require at least 2 people to work on its fulfilment (think 2 individuals or 2 small business owners signing a contract). Larger SMBs can easily have 5-6 people (across sales, accounting, legal, AP, AR, C-suite, business line managers) dedicating some portion of their time on a contract’s lifecycle. Multiply that x2 for each party. All of this friction means slower business transactions and, ultimately, slower economic growth for the American economy.

Our starting point for Delos was a simple question: if contracts are a 2-sided burden, can we process them in a two-sided way? In designing Delos, we drew inspiration from the financial world, where a clearing house protects both buyers and sellers by intermediating transactions and ensuring each side fulfills its obligations. Our vision is to leverage the latest capabilities of AI to build the same concept for all B2B contracts - a neutral platform where parties can register a contract and have AI agents monitor it, adjudicate on it, and enforce it.

We believe the clearing house model to be a prototype for making justice more affordable and accessible.
